Founders Hackathon with AI Beavers

First stress test of the Data Gym concept

By James

I had a great experience at the AI BEAVERS Founders Hackathon! The other hackathons I’ve seen have focused on just getting something coded. I knew this was different when the intro doc said, “Your ideas weren’t bad, but they’re weak.”

The team started when I met Binson Joseph, who immediately got the narrative and acted as my second brain. I got a lot of hard questions from my team, particularly Isabella Kiesslich. And Mateo Lopez Pozo stepped up and orchestrated the whole thing, managing both the team and technical aspects, as well as pitching with me at the end.

And I’m super excited to announce that we laid the framework for Jim’s Data Gym! It was a little surreal to be pitching in front of investors and other cofounders (the first time I’ve been nervous about public speaking since the first time I tried stand-up). We didn’t win, but we came away with a pitch deck, a basic prototype, and some great connections.

Next stop: potential user interviews, funding applications (putting that pitch deck to work)!
